Utah tops Forbes list of best states for business (again). So what's in the water around this place?
Yes. It's official. We're the coolest.
For the third year in a row Utah tops Forbes "Best States for Business" list. As in #1. Utah's economy has expanded 2.3% annually (and is accelerating now) and has consistently been ahead of the national curve in almost every major economic category over the last three years. Governor Gary Herbert, who leads the states economic charge, has cited a few other reasons for the growth. Among these are light government regulation, and educated labor force that likes to stay in-state and a good tax rate.
But for those who have been around for a bit they see the real #1 reason Utah succeeds. It's the people. Utah is a business and entrepreneurial hotbed. Recently one successful business move-in stated "You get off the plane in L.A. and you want to exercise. You get off the plane in Utah and you all of the sudden
you realize you could run an awesome business. There's just something in the air here."
